Another Ruby Doll

Meet contemporary Ruby the Queen of Black and White. Made for a swap on Mixed Media UK I thought I would make a sophisticated doll this time. She was great fun to make. I have a lilac/purple one cut out, my granddaughters favourite colour.

New Toy

DH has a new toy, a new camera a bit more complex than the last one so it requires lots of tinkering with, a tripod arrived today and a case is on its way. Its a Nikon D40 with a detachable lens. I must get him to show me the automatic setting so all I have to do is press the button.
The photo has been taken in my home town in the UK. The display of tulips is always very colourful every year

Recycling Plastic Bags

I'm into fusing plastic bags by making a sandwich of
four plastic bags with top and bottoms cut off and sheets of baking paper to protect your iron and the ironing board. Experiment with the heat of the iron it doesn't need to be very hot and work with good ventilation, I didn't do a lot at anyone time. I have also ironed squares from another bag on top then added text with a permanent pen and free machined all over to blend it together. I try not to use plastic bags by taking my own material ones to the supermarket and carrying one in my handbag but I have saved different coloured ones and some with pictures on. I am now getting very sad as I have asked my friends if they have any interesting ones and even worse I now notice who has got a good one I would like to use and if I know them well enough will ask for it. I will be making a few more and maybe trying to use embossing powder.
Left overs made into atcs

This bag was made by the same method I cut out the lady bird and then applied some strips left over from another project, these strips had to be machined on as they didn't fuse very well. The faces were cut out and fused and details machined.
The panels were than sewn on to the material and made into a bag.
